In a moving ceremony celebrating exceptional civic duty, swift action, and true courage under pressure, four dedicated members of the Lockyer Valley team were formally invited to the Mayor’s council chambers last week to receive official certificates of recognition. The prestigious honours were presented by civic leadership in light of the team's remarkable emergency response to a critical incident that unfolded at our pool facilities back in May.
Swift Action in a High-Stakes Emergency
The life-threatening emergency began when a swimmer suddenly suffered a severe cardiac arrest while in the water. Recognising the immediate danger, the team sprang into action without a second's hesitation, initiating emergency protocols to safely retrieve the individual from the pool.
Once poolside, they immediately began administering vital, lifesaving CPR alongside comprehensive first aid, seamlessly coordinating their efforts to stabilise the individual until paramedic teams arrived on the scene. Their impressive composure, clear communication, and unwavering professionalism made all the difference during a high-stakes moment where every single second truly counted.

During the official presentation in the chambers, local leadership commended the group's quick thinking and decisive coordination, highlighting how their sharp instincts and thorough training directly contributed to saving a life.
